Maryla joined Keppie in 2013 as Divisional Director of the Learning Strand after working for Atkins and Ingenium Archial where she designed a variety of educational, masterplanning, healthcare and commercial projects in the UK and abroad. Maryla graduated with a Masters and Diploma from the Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow following an Honours degree from Manchester University. She was awarded the William Gillespie Prize for Urban Design and the Manchester Society of Architects Student Travel Award. Throughout her career she has designed schools throughout Scotland as well as leading designs for major educational campuses built across the Middle East including the first eco-friendly school built in Dubai. Maryla's key skills are in concept design across all building sectors, particularly school design and hand sketching. Her role at Keppie includes design mentoring, the development of the Learning strategy, broadening business development activities and contributing to the bidding and winning of projects. Apart from sketching Maryla is a keen painter.
