The site is occupied by a pair of Grade B listed villas, with our starting point being the retention and re use of the existing building. An economic appraisal, together with other factors rendered this approach prohibitive.


An appraisal exercise led to the proposal of a hotel as the most appropriate building type. Following an extensive pre application consultation process, our approach was for sensitive massing with a contemporary architectural language using a limited palette of quality materials.
