Forth Valley Royal Hospital
Larbert

Designed as a collection of ‘districts’, each with its own identity and “front door”, but with clinical links and pedestrian routes internally, the site would provide eight hundred beds, fifty percent being single bedrooms, sixteen operating theatres with supporting facilities, a women and children’s hospital, plus a linked mental health facility. It builds on a more typically urban concept of streets and squares. The main streets links wards, treatment & diagnostic facilities and courtyard spaces together.

"This impressive project will deliver a new, state of the art hospital for the people of Forth Valley. The care and attention to detail that the people who have contributed to the process have, is an indication of great things to come in the health service."

- (Former) First Minister of Scotland, Alex Salmond
