SEPA Central, Maxim Office Park

Building on Keppie’s successful relationship with Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and the completion of their award winning new regional headquarters in Aberdeen, we were asked to undertake the bespoke fitout for SEPA’s new regional office and laboratory within an existing building at Maxim Office park. The brief included for the relocation of these facilities from existing dispersed locations into a single centrally located hub.

Utilising the basis of the design ethos from the Aberdeen office, Keppie undertook a series of staff consultations and presentations to ensure the brief aspirations worked seamlessly with the existing building and created a high quality flexible working environment, including first class laboratories, open plan office space and associated functions. It was important to the client that the normally enclosed operations of the laboratories were designed to be opened up visually, promoting collaboration within the organisation and allowing public access, raising the profile of SEPA’s operations in protecting Scotland’s environment.
