Architect
Andy studied architecture at the Macintosh School of Architecture, he started our working in social housing, before doing some work in healthcare, retrofit and contemporary private housing. Andy appreciates travelling to new places, always curious about what a settlement says about its people.
Andy studied up to masters level, doing a written masters on the role of building in early settled society and art, and how this understanding can illuminate present building practices. He is confident developing ideas in the concept design stage, using analysis, sketching and simulation to inform key design moves. He had the privilege of doing independent commissions in lockdown, including the design of a modular eco house in Edinburgh. He is committed to ecologically smart, forward thinking design.
He has avidly kept sketchbooks since a teenager, which help him record his sporadic creative thoughts.
