David Buchan

David studied at the University of Strathclyde and Chalmers Tekniske Hogshule in Gothenburg, graduating with a masters of distinction in advanced architectural design. David joined Keppie in 2019.

David is currently the project lead responsible for the delivery of a confidential international healthcare project. David brings over 10 years experience in the construction industry having been involved in a variety of sectors in the UK and overseas, including  Australia, China, Egypt and the Middle East. In recent years David has worked on a number of high profile mixed use and cultural projects, including the new Shenzhen Opera House.  Most notably, David played a key role in developing Zhuhai’s new 300m twin skyscrapers, now under construction. At home David led the design and delivery of Noss Primary School in Wick and worked closely with Help for Heroes to delivery the Recovery Centre at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire. David is involved in all stages of a project and enjoys communicating ideas through free hand sketching.

In his spare time, David plays the piano, the violin and has a particular interest in 20th Century Russian neoclassical music; not the easiest of listening he claims. In the winter, David enjoys skiing and hot yoga to stay active.
