State-of-the-art private healthcare development
The Kheir Rida Sa’ada (KRS) hospital project, sponsored by the Said Foundation, is to be a state of the art private hospital on the outskirts of Damascus. The hospital will provide 160 acute beds, 6 operating theatres, full imaging and pathology services, a large consulting room outpatient complex together with a range of other facilities.
The hospital project was developed following the successful completion of a site-wide masterplan developed by Keppie. The proposed hospital is a light, airy, legible and controlled clinical environment centred around an internal atrium and landscaped courtyard, offering relief from the potentially harsh local climate. Externally, the building is a blend of contemporary architectural expression, while being deeply rooted in the local Syrian context and typology.
Clinically, the treatment and diagnostic facilities are located on the lower floors with ward accommodation occupying the upper two levels, providing expansive views of the surrounding landscape from protected external spaces, aiding rehabilitation and recuperation.
