REINVIGORATING ST CATHERINES RETAIL PARK PERTH
The project involved the reinstatement and expansion of retail units at St Catherine’s Retail Park in Perth following a fire in 2019, with works comprising;
- Two new retail units
- Garden centre
- Landscaping
- Car park improvement works
The project was successfully delivered during challenging circumstances at the height of the pandemic.
Working closely with the client team, rather than a ‘like for like’ replacement of the previous retail units – a contemporary and sustainable design approach has been developed for the new retail units. A light, fresh material palette with embellishment of the retail unit entrances with covered metal fin porch areas was progressed.
The project achieved the following sustainability objectives;
- EPC Rating B (thermally efficient)
- Air-permeability less than 5m³/(h.m²) @ 50 Pa
- Re-use and enhancement of existing slab (low carbon)
- Sustainably sourced materials
- Recycled/ Re-used materials
- Improved accessibility & Pedestrian Environment
- Low Energy Lighting and Natural Lighting
- Electrical Supply (Low Carbon)
